Laugh it up in support of the Special Olympics Canada Summer Games
MEDICINE HAT – A pair of top comics are taxiing in to Medicine Hat March 8 for Comedy for the Games, supporting the upcoming Special Olympics Canada Summer Games.
Cash Cab host Adam Growe and comedy festival regular Todd Ness are both headliners in their own right, but will each take the stage in the special event presented by MY96 and Wild 94.5 at the Esplanade. Doors open at 6 p.m. with Ness taking the stage first at 7 p.m.
Tickets go on sale for $50 apiece Jan. 21 at tixx.ca for those with a presale code, then to the general public Jan. 23. You might even walk away with money in your pocket as audience members can win during the Adam Growe Quiz Show, a spinoff of the Cash Cab TV show.
By attending this event, you’ll help raise vital funds to support the Games, build excitement within our community, and demonstrate your commitment to inclusion and celebration of athletes with intellectual disabilities in Medicine Hat and the surrounding area — all while enjoying a great night of comedy.
The Medicine Hat Alberta Games Society is proud to host the Special Olympics Canada Summer Games Medicine Hat 2026. From Aug. 11-15, 2026, our community will welcome more than 1,700 athletes, coaches, and officials from across Canada as they compete in 10 different sports.
This marks the first multi-sport Games hosted in Medicine Hat since 2019 and is expected to generate more than $12 million in economic impact for our region. As fundraising continues toward our $1 million goal to support the operating costs of the Games, we invite the community to come together for Comedy for the Games.
Growe, host of Cash Cab, will take the stage for 90 minutes with a trivia-comedy twist. Audience members have the chance to win cash and prizes while participating in Adam’s interactive, uproarious quiz show, which will feature clever multiple-choice questions, side-splitting humor, and a safe, fun environment for everyone. With over 25 years of professional experience and appearances on Just For Laughs, Comedy Now!, and Comedy Central’s Premium Blend, Adam brings high-energy, laugh-out-loud entertainment with a unique interactive twist.
Ness is one of Canada’s most requested comedians, known for his quick wit, original material, and ability to deliver a unique show every time. He regularly headlines clubs across the country and has performed on CBC’s Lol and at the Winnipeg Comedy Festival, sharing the stage with comedy greats like Bill Burr, Andrew Schulz, and Shane Gillis.
